Vacuum structure and effective potential at finite temperature: a variational approach

چکیده

We compute the effective potential for φ4 theory with a squeezed coherent state type of construct for the ground state. The method essentially consists in optimising the basis at zero and finite temperatures. The gap equation becomes identical to resumming the infinite series of daisy and super daisy graphs while the effective potential includes multiloop effects and agrees with that obtained through composite operator formalism at finite temperature. Calculation of Thermodynamic Properties of the Quasi-one Dimensional Liquid 3He at Finite Temperature

We have used a variational approach to calculate some thermodynamic properties of the quasi-one dimensional liquid 3He such as the energy, entropy, free energy, equation of state and heat capacity at finite temperature. We have employed the Lennard-Jones potential as the inter-atomic interaction. We have seen that the total energy increases by increasing both temperature and density....

Variational Calculations for the Relativistic Interacting Fermion System at Finite Temperature: Application to Liquid 3He

In this paper, at first we have formulated the lowest order constrained variational method for the relativistic case of an interacting fermion system at finite temperature. Then we have used this formalism to calculate some thermodynamic properties of liquid in the relativistic regime. The results show that the difference between total energies of relativistic and non-relativistic cases of liqu...

A semi-variational approach to QCD at finite temperature and baryon density

Recently a new bosonization method has been used to derive, at zero fermion density, an effective action for relativistic field theories whose partition function is dominated by fermionic composites, chiral mesons in the case of QCD. This approach shares two important features with variational methods: the restriction to the subspace of the composites, and the determination of their structure f...

Once More on a Colour Ferromagnetic Vacuum State at Finite Temperature

The spontaneous vacuum magnetization at finite temperature is investigated in SU(2) gluodynamics within a consistent effective potential approach including the one-loop and the correlation correction contributions. To evaluate the latter ones the high temperature limits of the polarization operators of charged and neutral gluon fields in a covariantly constant magnetic field and at high tempera...

Non - trivial phase structure of φ 4 - theory at finite temperature 1

The effective potential for the local composite operator φ 2 (x) in λφ 4-theory is investigated at finite temperature in an approach based on path-integral lin-earisation of the φ 4-interaction. At zero temperature, the perturbative vacuum is unstable, because a non-trivial phase with a scalar condensate φ 2 0 has lower effective action. Due to field renormalisation, λφ 2 0 is renormalisation g...
